Bishan Swimming Complex opened its doors to the public on 1st Dec 1991. It is simply a 10 minutes walk from Bishan Junction 8, which is situated beside the Bishan MRT station. Bishan Swimming Complex consists of 3 pools, a competition pool, a teaching pool and a wading pool. Hence, lessons for both adults and children are being taught here. New students will normally be taught in the teaching pool. Once they progress and meet certain standards, they can then proceed to the competition pool. The competition pool is similar to that of a 50m long Olympic size pool.

For parents who are waiting for their child’s lesson to end, you might want to consider visiting Junction 8 Shopping Centre. There is so much that you can explore over there. You can always visit Popular to view some books, or maybe BHG for clothes. If you need a haircut, there’s EC house where you can get a haircut in just 10 minutes. There are many other salons and fashion shops available for your needs. If you’re feeling hungry, there’s always NTUC Fairprice and so much more eateries to choose from. You can check out their full store directory here.

Most lessons are conducted over the weekends for children. This is also the peak period where the place is relatively crowded. The best option would be to avoid the peak period as it is not just more expensive, but it is also difficult to maneuver about. On the other hand, weekdays cost cheaper and aren’t as packed as weekends. It would allow you more space to move around as well. The thing you should take note of is that on Thursdays, the pool will only be opened after 2.30pm.
