Hougang Swimming Complex opened its doors to the public on 24th May 1987. It is located just opposite the Hougang Polyclinic and it consist of the three usual swimming pools. They are a wading pool, a teaching pool and a competition pool. The wading pool is usually used by toddlers and for play. The teaching pool are mainly for children and beginners attending lessons. As for the competition pool, it is similar to the size of a 50m Olympic pool. Usually, the more advanced students who are able to swim laps, are seen practicing here during lessons.

For parents who are waiting for their child’s lesson to end, you might want to consider visiting Hougang Mall. It’s a simple heartland mall that has all your essential needs. If you’re in the mood for some reading, there’s Popular book store. Feeling hungry? Not to worry as they have many eateries such as Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Ya Kun and even a food court. Also, if you’re looking to replenish your groceries, you can do so at NTUC Fairprice. For more store listings, you can check them out here.

As Hougang Swimming Complex is located in the heart of Hougang, it is a popular spot where learners and swimmers gather. Just like any other swimming complex in Singapore, it is usually more crowded over the weekends compared to the weekdays. The peak on weekends would probably be in the morning. The best solution if you want to swim freely would be to visit the pool on a weekday instead. However, please note that on Tuesdays, the complex only starts operation from 2.30pm onward.
