Jurong East Swimming Complex opened its doors to the public on 6th March 2000. The nearest MRT station to the pool is Chinese Garden. From there, it’s about a 15 minutes walk to reach the swimming complex. It is one of the largest swimming complex in Singapore with 5 different pools and 3 water slides. The wave pool, lazy river, Jacuzzi and kids pool are where most people have fun and relax. The competition pool is where lessons are normally conducted as it is similar to the 50m Olympic size pool.

For parents who are waiting for their child’s lesson to end, you might want to consider visiting Taman Jurong Shopping Centre. It’s quite a distance from the swimming complex if you walk. However, if you’re driving, it is a 5 minute drive away. It is quite a simple place with a NTUC Fairprice outlet, a food court, a few bakeries and some other shops. If you’re in need of a haircut, you can also find a couple of hair salons and barbers here.

Jurong East Swimming Complex is a popular spot for children to teenagers and even adults. Many people come here not just for lessons, but for leisure too. If you’re looking to swim freely or work on your laps, then it would be wise to do so on a weekday. The weekends are usually packed and since the competition pool is the only place where lessons can be conducted, it will normally be congested. Therefore, the best time to visit the pool either for practice or leisure would be on any weekdays except Mondays. Do keep in mind that the pool is closed on every Monday.
