Where’s the best place to learn swimming? Well, it’s none other than the public pools. Why is this so? Firstly, the instructors teaching in these public pools are required to have the necessary qualifications before they can actually teach there. Secondly, as there are many instructors teaching in public pools, the rates are usually more competitive. In other words, you would be able to find far more attractive prices, making the lessons more affordable.

Just over the weekends, a new public pool opened in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona which is located in the states. This opening came just in time for the long Memorial Day weekend. “Pima County is able to offer to their residents cheap swim lessons, in order to actually assist with the potential fight against people drowning,” said Grant Bourguet who was a part of the parks department. So how cheap are these lessons exactly? An eight session course for children costs only $20.

“Living in Arizona, there’s a pool on every corner. I’m confident that they know what they’re doing, so it makes me feel better,” said Amy Mattox, a mother who puts her children through the classes.

In fact, the first fifty people who signed up for swimming classes were offered free lessons. The Tucson Parks and Recreation Department also offers swimming classes. In fact, they were able to obtain a grant from the Tucson Police Department, allowing them to reduce the $15 program fee to a mere $2 registration fee. This has allow even more residents to take part in swimming.

In Singapore, we have approximately 26 public swimming complexes located island wide. Hence, it doesn’t matter which part of Singapore you live in because there will definitely be a swimming pool close by. Let’s not forget to mention that every condominium and country club also has their own swimming pool to cater to their residents and members. However, why are public pools still preferred over those in condominiums and country clubs? As we have mentioned earlier at the start of the article, the public swimming complex offers only certified instructors and are much more affordable compared to the prices in condominiums and country clubs.

At Happy Fish Swim School, we only offer instructors who are certified. Even if you wish for lessons to be conducted at your condominium, we can make the necessary arrangements for a private class to be held at your convenience. This means that you wouldn’t have to worry about whether the instructor is qualified or not. Alternatively, you can choose our group classes that are held in various public swimming complexes around Singapore.
