An independent marketplace for swim coaches
About Swimming Lessons Singapore
We connect families with independent swim coaches who teach at condominium and home pools. The coaches set their own prices and hours; we run the booking, the payments and the rules every booking follows.
Why this exists
Parents at condominiums have long asked the same question: can a swim coach just come to our pool? Plenty of freelance coaches in Singapore do exactly that, but finding one usually means a chat-group recommendation, a price by WhatsApp, and no written rules about rain, cancellations or refunds. Coaches, for their part, spend hours chasing messages and payments. This site puts coach profiles and prices in the open, lets families book and pay online, and applies the same rules to every booking, automatically.
Who runs it
Swimming Lessons Singapore is operated by the team behind Happy Fish Swim School, our sister swim school. The coaches listed here are independent: they are not employed by us or by Happy Fish, and Happy Fish does not train, supervise or recommend them. Where Happy Fish's indoor heated pools are the better answer, notably for babies under 3 and some special-needs learners, we say so, and we say plainly that it is our sister school.
How the site is paid
Families pay exactly the coach's listed price, with no booking fee. Coaches pay the site a one-time referral fee out of their share: half the price of the first 4 lessons a new family books with them. After that, a 3.6% admin fee per lesson covers payment processing and the booking system. The details are on the page for coaches.
What the site checks, and what it does not
A coach appears in search only while all of these are true: a swim instructor certificate, a lifesaving certificate and a CPR certificate are on file and in date; the coach terms are accepted; payouts are set up; weekly availability has been confirmed within the last month; and, once they have 5 or more reviews, their rating is 4.0 or higher. These checks run automatically. Certificates are uploaded by the coach, and nobody here inspects them. We do not interview coaches, run background checks or watch lessons. That is why every profile shows certificates, experience and reviews from real bookings, and why we suggest starting with a trial lesson.
Rules that protect every booking
- One coach to at most four learners, never more
- A coach who declines a booking must do so within 12 hours, and you are refunded in full automatically
- Lightning, heavy rain and unhealthy haze stop the lesson, with a make-up lesson added
- Coaches are paid per lesson, only after it is recorded and confirmed
- A missed lesson is refunded automatically; two in 60 days and the coach is suspended
- An honest age policy: we advise against regular lessons for under-3s in unheated outdoor pools
Your data
We collect the details needed to run lessons and take payment, keep them under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, and do not sell or share them for marketing. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number. Privacy policy.
Who to talk to
Questions go to [email protected] and are answered by a person on our team, not an automated reply. Disputes about a lesson are reviewed by a person, not an algorithm.
