Condos and landed pools along Bukit Timah Road
Bukit Timah is where a private coach makes the most obvious sense. The condominiums along Bukit Timah Road and Dunearn Road were built for families, and most have a proper lap pool rather than a decorative one. Developments here include Maplewoods, The Sterling, Signature Park, Cascadia and The Tessarina, and older estates around Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park whose pools sit under mature trees.
The other half of Bukit Timah is landed. Watten Estate, Binjai Park, Namly Avenue and the roads off Holland Road have a high share of houses with their own pool, and those lessons are the simplest of all: no guardhouse, no shared lanes, and a pool that is often heated. A small home pool is ample for a beginner; a coach should say if an older child needs a longer one.
Coaches, slots and travel
Bukit Timah sits in the middle of the island's western half, so coaches living in Clementi, Holland, Bukit Batok or Novena are often within a typical travel range of about 8 km. Which coaches you see depends on who has joined and whose range covers your postal code; search to find out. Weekday afternoons and evenings are usually easier to book than weekend mornings. Filter for a female coach if you want one; the site adds no surcharge.
Pool notes for Bukit Timah condos
Two things are worth checking before your first lesson. The first is shade. Many Bukit Timah pools are surrounded by tall trees, which keeps the deck cool but also means leaves and water that is a degree or two cooler than a pool in full sun. For a 4-year-old, a late-morning or mid-afternoon slot is kinder than 8 am. The second is visitor registration. Most MCSTs along Bukit Timah Road are relaxed about a resident's private coach, but some larger estates ask for a standing note naming the instructor, and a few charge a small guest fee that is paid to the management office.
Pool hours here are typically 7 am to 10 pm, sometimes with an hour's cleaning closure in the early afternoon; pick a slot inside those hours and tell the guardhouse a coach is coming.
Babies and toddlers under 3 in Bukit Timah

How prices work in Bukit Timah
The site adds no area surcharge. Each coach sets their own price per 45-minute lesson, with any travel cost built in, and you see it before you pay.
Set by the coach
Coaches price their own lessons, usually by experience and how far they travel. As a guide, most private condo lessons in Singapore are priced between about $50 and $100 per 45 minutes for one learner. When 2 to 4 learners share, the coach's group price is split between them.
What you pay
Exactly the coach's listed price multiplied by the number of lessons. No booking fee, no travel fee from the site, no card surcharge. PayNow or card at checkout.
Trial or package
Book one trial lesson first, or a package of 4 or 8 lessons in one weekly slot with the same coach. Packages cost the per-lesson price times the lessons, with no discount and no markup.

Do coaches cover landed homes off Holland Road and Dunearn Road?
Yes, if their travel range reaches you. Landed-home pools in Watten Estate, Binjai Park, Namly, Greenwood and the Holland Road side streets are matched exactly like condo pools: enter your postal code and the free slots of coaches nearby appear. If your home pool is heated, say so in the pool notes.
My condo is near Beauty World. Is that Bukit Timah or the West?
It makes no difference to booking. Coaches are matched by postal code and distance, not by which page you came from, so a Beauty World or Upper Bukit Timah address simply sees the coaches closest to it. The Jurong, Clementi and West page covers the pools further along towards Bukit Batok.
Can I get a Saturday morning slot at a busy Bukit Timah pool?
Sometimes, and they are the first to go. If none show, try a Sunday morning or a weekday 4 pm slot, which in Bukit Timah is usually quiet. Booking an 8-lesson package holds whichever slot you choose for the full run.
