Swimming guides for Singapore parents and adult learners

Straight answers to the questions families ask before they book: what lessons cost, what age to start, how SwimSafer works, what to tell your MCST, and what happens when it rains.

No invented statistics. Where a number is uncertain, we tell you what swim teachers commonly observe instead.

How these guides are written

Each guide is written by the Swimming Lessons Singapore team, the people behind Happy Fish Swim School, our sister swim school, and draws on years of teaching children and adults to swim. No guide quotes a price for a particular coach, because coaches on this site set their own; where a guide gives a range, it describes what freelance coaches in Singapore commonly charge. Timelines and weather advice describe what swim teachers commonly see rather than figures we cannot stand behind. SwimSafer references follow the national SwimSafer 2.0 programme. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
