Private swimming lessons at your condo pool
An independent swim coach comes to your pool for 45 minutes, for 1 learner or a small group of up to four. You choose the coach, see their price before you pay, and keep the same weekly slot for the whole package.
Prices are set by each coach. As a guide, most private condo lessons in Singapore are priced between about $50 and $100 per 45 minutes for one learner. No booking fee.
What is included in a private lesson
Each lesson is 45 minutes at your pool. You book one learner, or 2, 3 or 4 learners who share the coach. The coach travels to you; any travel cost is part of their listed price, not an extra. Most coaches bring kickboards and a few teaching aids, and many follow the SwimSafer 2.0 stages for children or a beginner-to-lap progression for adults. Each coach's profile says how they teach.

Condo pool logistics: what to check with management
Almost every condominium in Singapore allows residents to bring a private coach, but the paperwork differs. Before your first lesson, look up three things in your house rules or ask the management office:
- Visitor registration. Most guardhouses simply need the coach's name and the unit hosting them. Coaches sign in with photo ID like any visitor. Some MCSTs prefer a standing note from the resident listing a regular instructor; our condo pool guide has the wording.
- Guest or instructor fees. A minority of developments charge a flat guest fee per visit or a monthly instructor registration. This is paid to the MCST, not to the coach or to this site.
- Pool hours and lane rules. Condo pools commonly open around 7 am and close at 9 or 10 pm, some with quiet hours in the early afternoon and a rule against lessons at peak weekend times. Coaches set their own hours, so pick a slot your pool allows.
On the day, the coach checks in on the coach app when they arrive and starts on time. You or another adult must be at the pool for children's lessons; the coach is teaching, not babysitting, and most condos require a resident present with a guest anyway.
Rain, lightning and haze
Lessons stop for lightning, heavy rain, or when the NEA 24-hour PSI for your region goes into the unhealthy range. The coach marks the lesson rained off, nothing is deducted from your package, and a make-up lesson is added to the end of your run. You are emailed immediately, so you are never guessing whether to head down.

Home swimming lessons at a landed property
If you have a private pool at a landed home, lessons work the same way and are often easier: no guardhouse, no shared lanes, no peak-hour restrictions. Small home pools are fine for beginners and toddlers; a 10-metre pool is enough for water confidence and the early SwimSafer stages. 1 learner or a small group: which to book
One coach, 45 minutes, for 1 to 4 learners. The question is what your learner needs.
1 learner
Full attention, at the coach's 1-learner price. Best for adults, for children who are anxious in water, for stroke correction, and for anyone whose level does not match a sibling's.
2 to 4 learners
Two, three or four learners within about two years of age and at a similar stage share the coach's group price. Siblings, cousins or neighbours in the same condo. Not every coach takes groups; the ones who do show a price for each size. Not suited to babies or special-needs lessons.
What every listed coach has on file
Coaches are independent freelancers. A coach appears in search only while all of these are true:
- A swim instructor certificate, a lifesaving certificate and a CPR certificate, uploaded by the coach and in date
- A complete profile with a photo, a bio, years of experience and the area they travel to
- The coach terms accepted and payouts set up, so they are paid only through the site
- Weekly availability confirmed within the last month
- A rating of 4.0 or more once they have 5 or more reviews from families who booked
Certificates are uploaded, not inspected by a person, which is why we say "on file" rather than anything stronger. Read each profile, look at the reviews, and start with a trial lesson. You can filter for a female coach. If a coach is suspended or stops teaching, every future lesson in your package is refunded automatically and you are emailed a link to book another coach. How prices work
There is no fixed price list. Each coach sets their own price per 45-minute lesson for 1, 2, 3 or 4 learners, and you see it on their profile before you pay.

Coaches price their own lessons, usually by experience and how far they travel. As a guide, most private condo lessons in Singapore are priced between about $50 and $100 per 45 minutes for one learner. When 2 to 4 learners share, the coach's group price is split between them.
What you pay
Exactly the coach's listed price multiplied by the number of lessons. No booking fee, no travel fee from the site, no card surcharge. PayNow or card at checkout.
Trial or package
Book one trial lesson first, or a package of 4 or 8 lessons in one weekly slot with the same coach. Packages cost the per-lesson price times the lessons, with no discount and no markup.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need MCST approval for a swimming coach?
Usually you need to inform, not apply. Most MCSTs treat a private coach as your guest: you register the coach's name at the guardhouse and stay responsible for them. A minority of developments require a short written notice to the managing agent or charge a guest fee. Check your house rules or ask the management office; the wording to look for is "external instructors" or "private coaching".
Does my condo charge a guest fee for the coach?
Some do, typically a small flat fee per visit paid to the management office, and most do not. The site does not collect or mark up this fee, and it is not part of the coach's price. If your condo charges one, budget for it on top, or ask management whether a registered regular instructor can be exempted.
Can two siblings share a lesson?
Yes, if they are within about two years of age and at a similar level. Book for 2 learners and you pay the coach's 2-learner price, which the two of them share; three or four can share too, if the coach takes groups that size. If their levels are far apart, two separate lessons usually work better.
What if it rains or there is lightning?
The lesson stops. Singapore's lightning risk is real, so the lesson follows the same rule as public pools: out of the water when lightning is within range, and no restart until it has cleared. The coach marks the lesson rained off, nothing is deducted, a make-up lesson is added to the end of your package and you are emailed at once.
Do coaches teach at landed homes with a private pool?
Yes. A home pool is often ideal: no other swimmers, no visitor rules, and if it is heated it suits younger children better than a condo pool. Search with your home postal code and you see the coaches who travel to it.
How long is a lesson and why 45 minutes?
45 minutes. Condo pools are unheated and usually 28 to 30 degrees, which is comfortable for adults but cool for children who stop moving. 45 minutes of active teaching is the right length before a child gets cold and stops learning.
