Pools on Sentosa and at Keppel Bay
Sentosa Cove is unusual: a large share of homes have a pool that belongs to one family. On Ocean Drive and on Treasure Island, Paradise Island and Sandy Island, most bungalows have a private pool, which makes for easy lessons, because coach and learner have the water to themselves. The Cove's condominiums, among them The Oceanfront, The Berth by the Cove, The Azure, The Coast and Seven Palms, have shared pools that work in the ordinary condo way.
Across the water on the mainland side we count Keppel Bay and HarbourFront as part of this region. Caribbean at Keppel Bay, Reflections at Keppel Bay and Corals at Keppel Bay are large estates with several pools each.
Getting a coach onto the island
Sentosa charges vehicles entering the island, and the Cove's guardhouses are stricter about visitors than a mainland condo. The site adds no island surcharge; coaches who travel here set their price knowing the trip, and the price you see is the price you pay. What matters is that you register the coach's name, and vehicle plate if they drive, with your guardhouse before the first lesson, because a coach turned away at the gate counts as a lesson taught.
Fewer people live south of the AYE, so fewer coaches are likely to have the Cove inside their travel range. Search with your postal code; weekday afternoons and early evenings are usually the easiest times to find.
Pool notes: heated pools, salt water and sun
Some Cove bungalow pools are heated, and a few use salt-water chlorination rather than a chlorine dose. A heated home pool is the one setting where a child a little younger than 3 can be comfortable, and salt-water pools are gentler on eyes and skin. Most of the private pools are short, around 8 to 12 metres, which is ample for water confidence and the early SwimSafer stages; for stroke endurance the condo lap pools are better.
Shade is scarce: the pools face the sea or the marina and get full sun from mid-morning, so a rash guard and a slot before 10 am or after 4 pm suit a young child. Condo pools here generally open 7 am to 10 pm.
Babies and toddlers under 3 in Sentosa Cove
There is no heated baby pool on Sentosa. The nearest parent-and-baby classes at Happy Fish Swim School, our sister swim school, are at its central branches, Home@Stevens off Stevens Road and Bukit Timah, a drive up the AYE or CTE from the Cove. That warm water is still the right start for an under-3; a heated home pool on the Cove is the one setting where a younger child can be comfortable.

How prices work in Sentosa Cove
The site adds no area surcharge. Each coach sets their own price per 45-minute lesson, with any travel cost built in, and you see it before you pay.
Set by the coach
Coaches price their own lessons, usually by experience and how far they travel. As a guide, most private condo lessons in Singapore are priced between about $50 and $100 per 45 minutes for one learner. When 2 to 4 learners share, the coach's group price is split between them.
What you pay
Exactly the coach's listed price multiplied by the number of lessons. No booking fee, no travel fee from the site, no card surcharge. PayNow or card at checkout.
Trial or package
Book one trial lesson first, or a package of 4 or 8 lessons in one weekly slot with the same coach. Packages cost the per-lesson price times the lessons, with no discount and no markup.
Sentosa Cove questions
Is there an extra charge for Sentosa Cove or Keppel Bay?
Not from the site. Each coach sets one price per group size, whatever the address, and you see it before you pay. The only extra that may apply is a guest fee set by your own MCST, paid to your management.
Our pool is only 10 metres. Is that enough?
For a beginner of any age, yes. Floating, breath control, gliding, treading water and the first strokes all fit in a short pool, and an empty private pool is easier for a nervous child than a busy lane. Once a child is swimming continuous lengths, a longer pool helps.
Can the coach come to a holiday rental or a serviced residence on Sentosa?
Usually, if the property allows visiting instructors; some serviced residences do not, so check with the operator first. A family staying a month or more can book a 4-lesson package with the property's postal code.
